RED V-RAPTOR

RED V-RAPTOR OVERVIEW

RED V-RAPTOR 8K VV is the most powerful and advanced RED® cinema camera ever. As the brand’s new flagship system and sensor, as well as the first entrant into the new DSMC3™ generation of cameras, V-RAPTOR stands alone at the forefront of digital image capture technology.
Featuring a groundbreaking multi-format 8K sensor- with the ability to shoot 8K Large Format or 6K S35, it unlocks the largest lens selection of any comparable camera on the market and allows shooters the ability to always deliver at over 4K. The sensor also boasts the highest recorded dynamic range of any RED camera and the fastest ever cinema quality scan time. With a dynamic range of over 17 stops and featuring scan times 2x faster than any previous RED camera, allowing users to capture up to 600 fps at 2K. V-RAPTOR will also continue to feature RED’s proprietary REDCODE RAW codec, allowing users to capture 16-bit RAW, and leverage RED’s latest IPP2 workflow and color management.
Along with a new flagship sensor, the V-RAPTOR features a modernized platform in an amazingly compact package weighing in at barely over 4 lbs. With two 4K 12G-SDI outputs, XLR audio and phantom power via adapter, and 1080p livestream, this system can handle most anything a shooter can throw at it.
Additionally, the V-RAPTOR/V-RAPTOR™ XL and the DSMC3 platform features advanced connectivity solutions which enable applications such as RED Connect for 8K R3D cinematic live streaming and remote record, remote control and monitoring, in-camera Frame.io integration, AWS direct upload, and more.
STRATA ND MOUNT

Rock solid mounting & precision filtration for demanding production.

Strata-PLND is designed with top tier users in mind.  For fast moving professional environments where the compromises of variable ND or electronic ND filtration are unacceptable.  Tough enough to support any lens while never passing any stress to the friendly but light-duty RF mount.

The ND system uses pure optical glass filters, uniquely allowing an immediate switch between clear and ND values 0.6, 1.2 and 1.8.  There is zero effect on colour, polarisation, vignette or bokeh rendition. Strata’s optical specification goes above and beyond the already best-in-class Revolva filter cartridge, and is matched for aspect ratio and size to the V-Raptor VV sensor.

The movement of the filters is purely mechanical. No motors or electronics to fail, no firmware compatibility to worry about. The design provides positive locking for each filter stage to prevent accidental intrusion or movement of the filters under vibration or rough handling.

Strata brings the expected rental-friendly design and bulletproof simplicity to V-Raptor. With optical baffles and flare traps for optimal performance, Strata is tailored with specific regard to the unique V-Raptor sensor and body.

The profile and aesthetic of the mount is matched to the camera body reducing the chance of obstructions to other accessories. Multiple 1/4-20 mounting points are provided for convenience.

The grippy PL mounting ring may optionally be augmented with a pair of grip tabs, each of which can be attached in a choice of positions to suit the user.

Mounting is by four captive 1/4-20 stainless steel screws direct to the V-Raptor front accessory mounting points. The RF mount is used only as a reference surface for position and backfocus, removing entirely the problems inherent to a sprung bayonet designed for small stills lenses.
