ASTERA AX10 SPOTMAX

The Astera AX10 SpotMax is an advanced, battery-operated lighting fixture, ideal for users requiring a durable and long-lasting light source. This RGBAW LED fixture comes with 9 LED emitters and offers a focused 13° beam spread. It provides a wide color temperature range from 2480 to 7100K, accessible through app or DMX control, and boasts a high CRI rating of up to 92. The AX10’s brightness is fully adjustable, dimmable from 100% down to 0% in any mode. It features an integrated lithium-ion battery capable of powering the fixture for up to 20 hours on a full charge, while the recharge time is approximately 7 hours.

As expected from an RGBAW fixture, the AX10 supports a multitude of effects, such as solid colors, fire, strobe (flash), and LEE gel color matching. Control is versatile, with options including wireless DMX (compatible with LumenRadio), the AsteraApp (for iOS or Android, requires an optional AsteraBox), or an optional IR remote. The light’s design includes a foldable bracket, which doubles as both a stand and a carry handle. The bracket also has a W 1/2″ threaded hole for mounting options like an optional Super Bolt.

Remote operation of the AX10 is possible through an optional ARC1 IR remote controller, the AsteraApp, or wireless DMX. It supports all LumenRadio CRMX transmitters, as well as W-DMX, G2, G3, G4, and G4S transmitters (with G4 and G4S in 2.4 GHz mode only). The Astera ART3 Wireless DMX Transmitter is another option for DMX control in the UHF frequency band, though CRMX is preferred.

The AX10 features an integrated status screen for displaying settings and navigating the menu system, facilitating both local control and remote use.

The fixture’s effects capabilities include solid color, color fade, color chase, running lights, fire effect, rainbow effect, and Lee gel effects. Its flicker control is managed by PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) with a default refresh rate of 599.4 Hz, adjustable between 200 and 1205 Hz to accommodate different shooting frame rates.

Charging the AX10 is flexible, with options for an optional powerCON AC cable or a charging case. It’s designed to be charged while powered off.

For extended storage, the AX10 features a special shipping mode that preserves battery health. Initial use requires a brief connection to AC power to exit this shipping mode.

The fixture’s native 13° beam spread can be modified with the included FLOOD filter for a 32° spread, or the WALLWASH filter for a 17° by 46° beam angle.
