Film Lighting Electronics Technician (Apprentice)

The Apprentice Lighting Electronics Technician is a Full Time entry-level technical position doing bench repair and quality checks of mechanical, electrical, cables, and electronic components for state-of-the-art motion picture lighting equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

· Troubleshooting, service, and repair of customer and warehouse Lighting products

· Provide telephone support on service-related issues for customers and MPS crew on location

· Conduct quality control testing of inventory

· Maintain cleanliness and appearance of shop area

· Perform other technical related projects as required by Sr. Lighting Service Technician

Qualifications/ Required Skills:

· A good understanding of basic Electrical Safety & Theory is required

· Car & Truck Mechanical experience a plus, but not needed

· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English with employees and customers

· High school or equivalent diploma, or technical school required

· Excellent Customer Service skills (friendly, courteous, and helpful)

· Ability to work well with others

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work seated at a bench for up to 2 hours at a time. Requires walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, and below the waist. The ability to lift a minimum of 70 pounds is required. Proper lifting techniques are required. Good vision is required for this job, as close vision is needed to see and manipulate small components.
