The Dallas Producers Association bestowed the DPA Dallas Film Pioneer Award upon Johnny Beasley, father of Mark and Brad Beasley who own MPS Studios. The DPA extended the award to Johnny at its annual "It Came From Dallas" soiree on October 18 for his contributions to the DFW production community.

The event was co-hosted by Gary Cogill and Gordon Smith, who led the audience through highlights of nostalgic movies and commericals, all shot in the Dallas area.

"That was an exciting event; the event was incredible," says Brad Beasley, Vice President of MPS Studios. "It's interesting to see the footage from the past that was created in this area."

Johnny came to the United States after WWII when his sister relocated to Dallas. He began his career as a cartoonist at Jamieson Productions, and worked for several recognize companies in the area. Johnny worked on countless high-profile productions, and is viewed as a local icon.

"My family and I are very proud of my dad," said Mark Beasley, President of MPS Studios. "He truly deserves this award."

The event also recognized Bill Stokes, founder and executive producer of The Stokes Group. The Stokes Group was a turn-key facility, catering to the commercial and corporate industries
